The town of Salt Rock situated 40 minutes outside Durban, South Africa, was a favorite surfing spot for the two brothers Ross and Angus Thomson who would leave their homeland and travel the world in search of new surf in safe waters. Arriving in London in 1988 the pair head to Cornwall to check out the surf at Penzance where they would soon settle and start a small business selling screen printed tee’s and surf equipment,,, and so Salt Rock was born. Salt Rock has a Mascot logo called Tok, named after the South African legend about a dwarf-like water sprite who is mischievous yet playful, this reminds Angus & Ross of home and reflects the brands personality.
